We are currently in the process of drafting in three experts draft for the upcoming 2006 season. When we're done, we'll post the results in our Mock Draft section on the site. It will be very beneficial to see where some players are falling this season. We're seeing some pretty good value fall to us in the middle to later rounds and we should be able to bring home at least a couple trophies this year if thing fall right.
Michigan Live reported today (July 20th, 2006) that Lions WR Mike was fined in excess of $400,000 dollars during the 2005 season for being tardy to meetings and consistently being overweight! So it seems like his incident in Lions minicamp this spring wasn't a one-time incident, but a continuation of delinquent behavior. There is even some speculation that Williams could be on the verge of not making the Lions 2006 roster. It wouldn't shock us if he was cut, but we doubt it, since the Lions just drafted him last season and would probably take too big of a cap hit to do so. He's definitley a guy that you are going to want to stay from this season. If he can't take to discipline, than he may find himself on the bench a lot with Rod Marinelli and Mike Martz running things in Detroit.

With the drafting of Ahmad Brooks yesterday, the Bengals added yet another guy who has character issues in his background. My question, I think, is a legitimate one. In this day and age of the NFL where you have to play within the guidelines of the salary cap, can the Bengals afford to continue selecting players of this caliber and expect to win a championship? Yes, they will still be a darn good team to choose players from when we're talking fantasy football, but will they have the strong character guys that are needed to build a championship team? They have already had three incidents this off-season, with the arrests of Chris Henry and Frostee Rucker and yesterdays’ suspension of Odell Thurman. If I were a Bengals fan, I think I would be a little worried about the long-term direction this team is headed in. Will they be good? No doubt. But will they be able to win that ultimate prize? That something that I'm not too sure about.
The four words that every fantasy football enthusiast hates to hear; "Running Back By Committee". It seems as though a good number of team will be taking this approach in their respective backfields this season. Some of the most interesting backfield situations will take place in Dallas, Denver, Baltimore, Pittsburgh and New England. We will soon be breaking down each teams running back situation and our thoughts on how it can hurt or help your team in 2006. Keep an eye out for it in our Articles page or on the home page.
There has been a lot of positive buzz coming out of the Lions this off season. The addition of Mike Martz as coordinator has given the offense new life. However, who is going to be the quarterback, Jon Kitna or Josh McCown? According to the Detroit News, it looks like it will be Kitna.
This article doesn't make things sound good for the return of Priest Holmes for the 2006 season:
OK, now that everything has come out about this story, we're feeling a bit better about Robinson. It's great to see that he is determined to conquer his demons and put his past troubles behind him. If he is this dedicated to staying clean, you have to think he is just as, if not more, dedicated to coming out and having a great 2006 season. We still worry about the QB situation in Minn., but we think that Robinson will wind up being a pretty good value for some lucky fantasy owner. His current ADP is 100, which should give you some pretty good value.
Here's how we see the top Fantasy RB's in the league at this point.
After some delay and a move to a new server, the Huddlegeeks forums are back up. Granted, there isn't much going on right now, since we had to scrap the old forum and start from scratch, but that gives you ample opporunity to get in there and be the first fantasy football fantatic to get the ball rolling! The Redskins wide receivers are a very interesting unit. No doubt, there is more talent in the unit than last year. The influx of free agents like Antwaan Randel El and Brandon Lloyd significantly upgrades the talent pool that QB Mark Brunell can throw to. But is this a good thing for fantasy fans?
